Sinopse:

O game, que dá início a saga X, se passa cem anos após os eventos da série original, especificamente no ano de 21XX, onde um arquéologo chamado Dr. Cain descobriu as ruínas do laboratório de Dr. Thomas Light, lá ele encontra e liberta um robô-andróide com tecnologia avançada, sentimentos e inteligências idênticos aos dos humanos e com o livre-arbítrio. Dr. Cain o nomeia de Mega Man X, e passa meses estudando-o, em seguida, ele decide duplicá-lo, criando outros andróides semelhantes, nomeando-os de Reploids. em questão de meses, os Reploids convivem em sociedade com os humanos. porém, com o livre-arbítrio, alguns Reploids tornam-se hostis e criminosos, sendo nomeados de Mavericks. com o número de Mavericks aumentando gradativamente, o governo decide criar uma organização militar, os Maverick Hunters, para combater os Mavericks. agora, Mega Man X ( ou simplesmente X ) contará com a ajuda de Zero para lutar contra os Mavericks, liderados por Sigma.

Synopsis:

The game which stars the Mega Man X series, set one hundred years after the original Mega Man series, specifically on the year 21XX, when the archeologist Dr. Cain discovers the ruins of Dr. Thomas Light’s laboratory, where he found a highly advanced robot with human intelligence and feelings, and the free-will. Dr. Cain names him as Mega Man X, and spend several months by studying him. then, he decides to duplicate him, creating other replicated androids, named Reploids, and in just one month, the Reploids lives peacefully with the human race. however, with the free-will, some Reploids becomes hostiles and criminals, being named as the Mavericks. by knowing that, the government decides to create an elite military force, the Maverick Hunters, to fight against the Mavericks. now, Mega Man X ( or simply X ) will have the help of Zero to face the Mavericks, led by Sigma.
