Sinopse:

Após os eventos do game anterior, com a derrota de Shinnok, o feiticeiro Quan Chi é mandado de volta para o Submundo, porém ele consegue escapar novamente através de um portal. no caminho, Quan Chi encontra a tumba do exército morto de Onaga e descobre que o próprio Onaga pode ser ressuscitado quando houver um grande número de almas sacrificadas em seu nome. sabendo disso, Quan Chi decide se aliar ao feiticeiro Shang-Tsung, assim nasce a Aliança Mortal. mas antes que pudessem fazer qualquer coisa, Quan Chi e Shang-Tsung matam o imperador Shao Kahn, em seguida, os feiticeiros armam uma emboscada e matam brutalmente a única pessoa que poderia pará-los: Liu Kang. agora que nada poderia atrapalhar os planos da Aliança Mortal, Shang-Tsung e Quan Chi começam a sacrificar várias pessoas, transferindo suas almas para o exército de Onaga, com o intuito de ressuscitá-lo. após a morte de Liu Kang, Raiden reúne os guerreiros restantes para a difícil missão de derrotar a Aliança Mortal.

Synopsis:

After the events of the previous game, with the defeat of Shinnok, the evil sorcerer Quan Chi is sent back to Netherrealm, however he can escape again through a portal. during his escape, Quan Chi finds the tomb of the dead army of Onaga and learns that Onaga himself can be resurrected when a lot of souls would be sacrificed in the name of him. by knowing that, Quan Chi allies himself with Shang-Tsung, there’s born the Deadly Alliance. but before they could do anything, Quan Chi and Shang-Tsung kill the emperor Shao Kahn, next, the sorcerers ambush and brutally kill the only man who could stop them both: Liu Kang. now nothing can stop the Deadly Alliance’s plans, Shang-Tsung and Quan Chi begins their rampage, by sacrificing a lot of people, moving their souls to Onaga’s army, with the objective to resurrect him. after Liu Kang’s death, Raiden reunite his remaining warriors to the hard mission to stop the Deadly Alliance.
